Finance Business Partner – up to 60,000 + bonus

Ready to move beyond the numbers?

We’re working with an established and successful manufacturing business looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join its senior finance team.

This is much more than a traditional management accounting role. You’ll sit at the heart of the business, partnering with senior stakeholders, challenging performance and turning financial data into meaningful insight that helps shape commercial decisions.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll take ownership of the management accounting and commercial finance agenda, including:

  • Lead the preparation and ownership of monthly management accounts, providing meaningful analysis and commentary rather than simply reporting the numbers.
  • Partner with senior leaders and budget holders, providing financial challenge and helping drive improved commercial performance.
  • Analyse both financial and operational KPIs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Own balance sheet integrity, including reconciliations, controls and review.
  • Take ownership of stock valuation, reconciliations and provisioning, including standard costing.
  • Play a key role in annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting.
  • Own cash flow forecasting and working capital management, providing clear recommendations to senior management.
  • Support external audits and act as a key point of contact for auditors.
  • Oversee VAT returns and relevant regulatory submissions, including ONS returns where required.
  • Continually improve financial controls, processes and reporting.
  • Support the Finance Manager with strategic projects and wider business initiatives.
  • Deputise for the Finance Manager during periods of absence.
  • Provide coaching and support to more junior members of the finance team where required.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for a confident, commercially focused accountant who can operate comfortably with senior stakeholders and isn’t afraid to challenge the status quo.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience owning management accounts and balance sheet integrity.
  • Proven experience with stock valuation, stock provisioning and standard costing.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching members of a finance team would also be highly desirable.

Why this role?

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to be more than just the person producing the numbers.

You’ll have genuine exposure to senior decision-makers, the opportunity to influence business performance and a broad remit spanning management accounts, commercial analysis, stock, working capital, forecasting and strategic finance.

If you’re an experienced manufacturing accountant who enjoys business partnering, commercial challenge and making a tangible difference, we’d love to hear from you, we’d love to hear from you.
