Financial/Management Accountant Permanent
We are currently working with a Commodities & FX Brokerage as they look to grow their finance team by hiring a Financial/Management Accountant who will be responsible for the end to end financial and monthly financial and management accounting, analytical review of PnL and Balance sheet and oversee the outsourced Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable function and assist the Head of Finance in ensuring good financial controls while improving processes and efficiencies.
The responsibilities in the role include:
- Preparing the monthly management accounts
- Monthly cost and variance analysis
- Assist with preparation of Board packs for CFO to a Board level standard
- Assist with preparation of year-end financial statements
- Manage the Accounts Payable & Bookkeeping outsourced function including reviewing staff expenses and vendor invoice bookings, authorizing payment runs and maintaining sufficient cash levels.
- Monitor against agreed outsourcing KPIs and be the main point of contact for the outsourced finance function
- Review VAT bookings and prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Prepare regulatory and financial returns
- Assist with other ad hoc finance projects
- Liaise with external auditors
- Liaise with HR and external payroll provider to ensure correct and timely payment of salaries.
- Help to create streamlined and more efficient procedures
- Assist with adhoc finance projects
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant with experience in the financial services sector.
- Proven, highly resilient individual, capable of multitasking and working to a demanding but achievable schedule
- Role will be analytical and will require strong technical skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong Excel skills including proficient with complex formula and pivot tables (sumif, vlookup, index match)
- Problem solver – strong intellectual abilities and rigor as well as a practical sense of what works
- Proactive and problem-solving approach
- An understanding of financial products e.g. FX, CFDs and Equities would be an advantage
Salary is up to £60,000
